Kraken begins liquidation of delisted token balances Aug. 3 to Aug. 7

Withdrawals closed July 31 for affected clients, and Kraken cautioned limited or inactive markets could leave some balances with minimal or no proceeds.

Kraken has started the final stage of its delisting wind-down for seven tokens, with automatic liquidation beginning Aug. 3 after affected clients’ withdrawals were closed on July 31. The exchange says any remaining balances of PLANCK, AIR, MICHI, FLY, ANLOG, TERM, or STRD on Kraken are scheduled to be sold during a five-day window running through Aug. 7, based on prevailing market conditions.

Kraken’s notice emphasizes the process is aimed at residual spot balances, not leveraged positions or margin calls. Because the withdrawal cutoff has passed, clients can no longer move the affected assets off Kraken and instead face an exchange-run conversion.

The exchange warned that several of the delisted tokens have limited or inactive markets, which can push liquidation prices significantly below reference prices. It also said insufficient liquidity could result in some balances generating minimal or no proceeds, though it did not state that every client or asset would receive nothing.

Kraken previously disabled trading and deposits at 14:00 UTC on May 1, and then set the July 31 withdrawal cutoff for these assets. Kraken did not disclose where it will execute the sales, how it will sequence assets and accounts, or whether additional fees, spreads, or the denomination of proceeds will vary by market conditions.
