OriginPoint hires Halliday-Levin team to expand West Coast lending
The team adds about $165 million in annual loan volume, focused on California and Hawaii, bolstering OriginPoint’s purchase and jumbo capabilities.
HousingWire reports Chicago-based mortgage lender OriginPoint has recruited mortgage originators Erin Halliday and Jon Levin from New American Funding. The move brings a combined 50 years of experience and roughly $165 million in annual loan volume, with their work concentrated in California and Hawaii.
Halliday and Levin officially joined OriginPoint, a joint venture of Rate and Compass, on July 27 as the Erin Halliday and Jon Levin Team. OriginPoint said the addition is aimed at strengthening its purchase and jumbo lending in two of the nation’s highest-cost housing markets.
The outlet reports that Halliday has nearly 25 years in mortgage lending and is recognized as a President’s Club member, with production spanning conventional, government, and jumbo lending, plus first-time homebuyer and investment property loans. HousingWire also cites RETR data showing Halliday closed 167 loans for about $149 million in volume over the past 12 months, with most tied to conventional loans.
HousingWire further reports that Levin has worked in mortgage for more than three decades, focusing on complex financing such as investment properties, debt-service-coverage ratio loans, and LLC ownership structures. OriginPoint said the team hire comes as lenders look to retain and recruit high-producing groups amid a sluggish origination environment marked by elevated rates and tight inventory.
