Trump Media moves more Bitcoin, leaving uncertainty over liquid holdings
The latest reported transfer on Aug. 2 follows earlier wallet activity, bringing the sum of two movements close to the portion of Trump Media’s March 31 BTC balance not listed as note collateral.
Trump Media & Technology Group has moved 2,628 BTC on Aug. 2, according to blockchain tracker attributions cited by CryptoSlate, raising renewed questions about what portion of the company’s March 31 Bitcoin treasury remains liquid once pledged collateral is excluded. CryptoSlate points to Trump Media’s filing that reported 9,542.16 BTC as of March 31, including 4,260.73 BTC serving as convertible note collateral. After subtracting that note collateral figure, the remainder comes to 5,281.43 BTC, though the company did not state whether that difference was fully liquid or unencumbered.
The outlet also links the Aug. 2 movement with an earlier set of reported transfers that, in combination, total 5,278 BTC. That arithmetic creates a remaining 3.43 BTC gap versus the March residual, but CryptoSlate cautions that its reconciliation depends on tracker attributions and does not, by itself, prove whether any sale occurred or whether coins were transferred for other purposes.
CryptoSlate adds that Trump Media separately disclosed having pledged 2,000 BTC under covered call arrangements on 4,000 BTC, with a June 30 options expiry. The post-expiry status of that collateral was not described in the filing details discussed, and CryptoSlate notes that wallet labels and visible balances cannot fully establish custody status or identify whether transferred coins remain under company control.
