Urban Company stock jumps after June-quarter earnings beat expectations
For the quarter ended June 2026, Net Transaction Value rose 42% year-over-year to ₹1,465 crore while revenue climbed 44% to ₹528 crore, despite a ₹92.1 crore net loss.
Urban Company shares surged nearly 18% to a 12-week high of ₹152 in Monday intraday trade on August 3, following June-quarter earnings that came in ahead of Street expectations, according to LiveMint Markets.
The Gurugram-based home services marketplace reported Net Transaction Value growth of 42% year-over-year to ₹1,465 crore and revenue from operations up 44% year-over-year to ₹528 crore, driven by broad-based expansion and record profitability in its core operations.
However, aggressive investment in its quick household-help venture, InstaHelp, along with a deferred tax expense, pushed Urban Company into a net loss of ₹92.1 crore for the quarter, compared with a net profit of ₹6.9 crore in the same quarter last year.
Urban Company completed 13.2 million orders, up 79% year-over-year, and added about 1.2 million new users. At the operating level, its consolidated adjusted EBITDA loss narrowed to ₹65 crore from ₹98 crore in the March quarter, while InstaHelp orders rose 43% quarter-over-quarter to 3.82 million.
