US construction spending fell in June, missing expectations

June construction spending declined 0.1% versus a 0.2% increase expected, after the prior month was revised to flat.

Forexlive reports that US construction spending in June fell 0.1%, coming in below the 0.2% gain economists expected.

The prior month’s reading was revised to 0.0% from 0.1%, adding to the downward surprise in the latest data.

The release indicates construction activity cooled on a month over month basis, moving in the opposite direction of forecast.
