JPMorgan plans $750B housing push through 2035 to expand homeownership

The initiative targets financing for 1 million affordable housing units and lending to 500,000 homebuyers over the next decade.

JPMorganChase said it plans to deploy more than $750 billion through 2035 to increase U.S. housing supply and support homeownership, framing the effort as part of its American Dream Initiative.

The bank said the housing capital deployment would be nearly 40% higher than what it deployed over the past decade, and that it will include financing for one million affordable housing units as well as lending to 500,000 homebuyers.

JPMorganChase also said it intends to deepen collaboration with policymakers and community partners to accelerate state and local solutions aimed at creating more housing across income levels.

In support of those goals, the firm said it will expand backing for pro-growth housing policies, including support for the implementation of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, and it plans to join as chair of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s newly formed Housing Advisory Council.
