Ariel Focus Fund posted gains in Q2 2026, buoyed by AMG
The Ariel Focus Fund returned 2.14% in Q2 2026, trailing the Russell 1000 Value and S&P 500 as energy, consumer healthcare, and gold mining weighed.
Ariel Investments reported that its Ariel Focus Fund returned 2.14% in the second quarter of 2026, falling short of the Russell 1000 Value and the S&P 500, which rose 13.87% and 15.20%, respectively, according to Yahoo Finance.
The fund benefited from gains in several holdings, but weaker performance in areas including energy, consumer healthcare, and gold mining weighed on results, even as U.S. stocks rallied on easing geopolitical tensions, lower oil prices, and resilient earnings.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Ariel highlighted Affiliated Managers Group as a notable holding. The firm advanced during the quarter with momentum in its alternatives platform, driven by strength in liquid alternatives, private markets, and multi-asset strategies.
Yahoo Finance also noted that Affiliated Managers Group stock traded between $208.22 and $382.75 over the past 52 weeks, and it closed around $365.46 per share on July 31, 2026, with an estimated market capitalization of about $9.686 billion.
