Arm says demand for its AGI CPU business has surpassed $2 billion
The chip designer reported its fiscal 2027 first-quarter results and said it has secured manufacturing capacity to meet the initial $1 billion target for the AGI CPU opportunity.
Arm Holdings is leaning more bullish on its newly launched AGI CPU business after its fiscal 2027 first-quarter update, with management indicating demand has grown beyond the initial $1 billion opportunity it outlined just months earlier, according to Yahoo Finance.
The outlet reports that Arm stock closed 7% higher on July 30 and is up 110% year-to-date. Arm develops processor architecture and CPU designs used by other companies, and it earns revenue through licensing and royalties as it expands beyond its traditional licensing model.
Yahoo Finance says Arm’s AGI CPU product family has reached multiple customers, and CEO Rene Haas stated that customer demand has surpassed $2 billion as new customers from both the U.S. and China entered the pipeline.
The company also addressed a key concern around whether it could produce enough chips to capture demand, saying it already secured manufacturing capacity to meet the initial $1 billion target and plans to expand production capacity with partners, with an additional update planned alongside fiscal Q3 2027 results.
