Oracle shares rise 5.3% as Iran strike hopes lift tech stocks
Oracle gained alongside a broader market rally after President Trump said planned strikes against Iran were called off and negotiations would restart, while a new Alphabet partnership also boosted sentiment.
Oracle Corp. shares rose 5.3% as of 10:39 p.m. ET Monday, helping lift the stock in line with a broader market advance that saw the S&P 500 up 1% and the Nasdaq Composite up 1.5%. Oracle's move was tied to improved risk sentiment as investors looked to a possible de escalation in the Iran conflict.
According to Yahoo Finance, President Trump told reporters Sunday that he had called off planned strikes against Iran and that a fresh round of negotiations would begin Monday, a reversal from the previous day’s comments about a major attack. The change in expectations reportedly brought relief across markets, with oil prices falling and equities rising.
Yahoo Finance also pointed to company specific momentum, citing last week’s announcement of an expanded partnership with Alphabet. The update is expected to give more Oracle customers access to two Google AI models, Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite and Gemini 3.5 Flash, following Alphabet’s latest earnings that showed strong growth and continued heavy spending on AI.
