Caterpillar shares jump after record revenue from data center demand
MarketWatch reports Caterpillar posted its biggest earnings beat in five years, helping lift the Dow by roughly 200 points.
Caterpillar shares surged after the company delivered what MarketWatch called its biggest earnings beat in five years. The stock move provided a broad boost to the Dow.
MarketWatch said the strength was tied to demand for data center construction, which helped push revenue to a record level.
With Caterpillar rallying on the back of that surge in data center-related activity, investors appeared to reprice the outlook for the industrial equipment maker.
