EUR/JPY slips after rebound stalls below 200-day SMA
The euro-yen pair trades near 181.9 after US and Japanese authorities intervened to support the yen, leaving sellers targeting 180.0.
EUR/JPY steadied after three straight sessions of losses, rising 0.56% on Tuesday to around 181.90, but the rebound has stalled below the 200-day simple moving average, according to FXStreet.
The newsletter upgrade notes that the pair, after clearing the 200-day SMA, shifted from bullish toward sideways trading with a slight downside tilt, and that momentum indicators point to potential further weakness as the RSI moves toward oversold territory.
For a bearish continuation, sellers need to push EUR/JPY below 180.00, with the next support cited at the August 3 cycle low of 179.3 and then at the October 30, 2025 high of 178.82.
On the other hand, FXStreet said a bullish reset would require EUR/JPY to climb above 182.00, then 183.00, with the 200-day SMA area at 183.74 highlighted as a key level.
