European natural gas prices ease as market digestion continues

ING said TTF is down modestly and that slower storage injections plus lower EU demand than in 2021 make conditions more comfortable than the earlier crisis period.

ING’s commodities team said European natural gas prices have fallen, with the TTF benchmark down modestly, as the market works through current storage and demand trends.

The firm noted that storage injections are slow and that the market remains tight heading into the 2026/27 winter, but it argued that absolute storage levels and lower EU gas demand versus 2021 are leaving conditions less stressed than during the earlier crisis period.

The analysis was published in an FXStreet Insights newsletter summarizing commentary from ING’s commodities team.
