Park Slope named Redfin’s hottest luxury neighborhood of 2026
Redfin’s analysis says luxury home demand is outpacing supply in many high end neighborhoods, even with elevated mortgage rates.
Redfin has named Brooklyn’s Park Slope as the hottest luxury neighborhood of 2026, citing rapid year over year growth in listing views and a high Redfin Compete Score, which reflects how difficult it is to win a home. Highland Park, Illinois ranked second, followed by Overland Park, Kansas at No. 3, in the ranking of U.S. zip codes located in the 100 most populous metro areas.
The study focused on zip codes where median home sale prices are at the 65th percentile or above for their metro, using Redfin activity on Redfin.com and Redfin Compete Score. Redfin said neighborhood names represent the areas covered by each zip code and that the selection was informed by local Redfin agents.
Redfin Senior Economist Asad Khan said luxury homebuyers are having an outsized impact on the spring 2026 housing market, even as mortgage rates remain high and the global economy is uncertain. According to the analysis, the top high end neighborhoods are hot largely because supply is not enough to meet demand, which Redfin contrasts with a broader buyer’s market trend.
Redfin agents pointed to neighborhood drivers including historic brownstones in Park Slope, access to Prospect Park, top rated schools, green space, and easy commutes to Manhattan. Redfin also said Park Slope’s appeal has grown as an alternative to upper Manhattan enclaves since the pandemic, with buyers attracted to a more residential feel alongside Manhattan style amenities.
