SpaceX posts $540 million loss as bitcoin holdings fall to $1.10 billion
SpaceX said it held 18,712 bitcoin, with the reported value dropping to $1.10 billion by June 30 from $1.64 billion at the end of 2025.
CoinDesk reports SpaceX, Elon Musk’s space technology company, posted its first quarterly results as a public company, reporting second quarter revenue of $7.8 billion that beat Wall Street expectations of $6.9 billion.
The company narrowed its net loss to $541 million from a $1.0 billion loss a year earlier, while adjusted EBITDA nearly tripled to $3.5 billion on growth across launch, Starlink, and AI businesses.
SpaceX also disclosed $1.10 billion in digital assets at the end of the quarter, down from $1.64 billion at the end of 2025, and said it held 18,712 bitcoin based on its SEC filing.
CoinDesk notes the report arrives ahead of a major test for the stock, with about 912 million shares held by employees and early backers becoming eligible for sale on Aug. 6.
