White House reviews crypto Clarity Act ethics text as vote deadline nears

The White House is reviewing the latest draft of the long-awaited crypto Clarity Act, with bipartisan work intensifying as lawmakers face an approaching vote deadline, according to reports cited by Bitcoin Magazine.

Senator Thom Tillis said bipartisan language sent to the White House last week is being reviewed, adding that White House personnel are going through specific lines in the ethics text.

Separately, Senate Majority Leader John Thune declined to file cloture on the crypto market structure bill Wednesday afternoon, leaving negotiators only a narrow window to achieve something like consensus.

Tillis said the odds of a vote depend on whether the Senate remains in Washington past its scheduled Thursday departure, and warned that a vote by an on-schedule exit would be unlikely, while still leaving room if lawmakers are delayed.
