Dow hits record high as talks over Strait of Hormuz lift risk sentiment
Stocks extended gains to a fifth straight positive session as oil prices cooled after expectations of improved shipping security through the Strait of Hormuz.
CNBC World reports optimism around talks between Iran and Oman on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz helped lift market sentiment, with the Dow reaching a record high.
The outlet said the index also logged its fifth positive day in a row.
While equities rallied on the back of improving expectations for the critical shipping corridor, CNBC World noted oil prices continued a cooling trend rather than accelerating higher.
