Arab states accuse Israel of Gaza ceasefire violations as strikes persist
The dispute leaves humanitarian aid below deal-required levels, while a second ceasefire phase appears impossible without Hamas disarmament and Israeli withdrawal.
Oil prices and energy markets are closely watching a deteriorating ceasefire in Gaza, after eight Arab and Muslim countries accused Israel of violating the truce as Israeli strikes continue more than nine months after a U.S.-mediated agreement took effect, according to OilPrice.
Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Pakistan and Indonesia jointly condemned attacks on civilians, healthcare facilities and other infrastructure, while Gaza health authorities said more than 1,200 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since the October ceasefire began.
The article says Israeli forces have returned to areas they previously agreed to withdraw from, and that humanitarian aid is languishing below levels required under the deal.
Israel, in turn, argues Hamas has violated the ceasefire by rebuilding tunnels, recruiting fighters and rearming, and says it has refused to complete its withdrawal until Hamas disarms, with the first phase having failed and a second phase now appearing impossible.
