Charleston docks project heads to market in Chapter 11 sale
The 3.31-acre site, with nearly 300 feet of Cooper River frontage, is being marketed by JLL after an 18-story condominium tower and 21 townhomes were vacated in February 2025 due to structural deficiencies.
A major downtown Charleston waterfront redevelopment opportunity has been brought to market through Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, with JLL selected as exclusive sales representative for the Dockside on the Peninsula site.
ConnectCRE reports that the project sits on 3.31 acres and offers nearly 300 feet of Cooper River frontage, along with a private concrete pier and access to nearby dining, hospitality, retail, and cultural amenities.
The Dockside Association brought the property to market after vacating an 18-story condominium tower and 21 townhomes in February 2025, following a city-ordered closure for structural deficiencies.
ConnectCRE adds that the property has General Business zoning and established entitlements, and previously approved permits for reconstructing a public dock support further waterfront activation. JLL Capital Markets Hunter Barron, Lee Allen, and Brian Connolly are leading the sale.
