Stripe-owned Bridge added to EU MiCA register after Luxembourg approval

Bridge’s move raised the count of MiCA-authorized electronic money token issuers in the EU register to 42, ESMA said, and it came after Bridge won CASP authorization and an EMI license in Luxembourg.

Stripe-owned Bridge has been added to the European Union’s MiCA register after receiving regulatory approval in Luxembourg, joining companies that operate under the bloc’s crypto framework, according to Cointelegraph.

Bridge Building, the Luxembourg-based entity behind Bridge’s stablecoin infrastructure, secured a Crypto-Asset Service Provider authorization under MiCA and an Electronic Money Institution license from Luxembourg’s Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier earlier this year, Cointelegraph reported.

Following the update, ESMA said the number of MiCA-authorized electronic money token issuers in the EU register increased to 42.

Cointelegraph also noted that the same ESMA publication included three new CASP entries from Germany, bringing total authorized CASPs in the EU register to 324, while showing no changes to asset-referenced token authorizations or the list of non-compliant crypto asset companies.
