New home sales fall to weakest year-to-date pace since 2017

In June, new single-family home sales totaled 628,000 units at a seasonally adjusted annual rate.

Zillow Research reports that new single-family home sales in June totaled 628,000 units at a seasonally adjusted annual rate, falling to their weakest year-to-date pace since 2017.

The June figure was 1.6% above the revised May rate of 618,000, but sales were 5.6% below the June 2025 estimate, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Zillow Research also cited pricing data showing the median price of newly sold homes at $398,300, down 2.7% from a year earlier.
