Australia suspends Cryptolink Bitcoin ATM operations for three months

AUSTRAC cited failures to meet basic threshold transaction reporting requirements and said the company did not respond to information requests.

Australia’s anti-money laundering regulator, AUSTRAC, has suspended Cryptolink’s Virtual Asset Service Provider registration for three months, forcing its Bitcoin ATMs to stop operating during the suspension period.

According to Cointelegraph, AUSTRAC said Cryptolink failed to meet basic reporting obligations, particularly threshold transaction reports, and did not respond to the regulator’s request for information.

Cointelegraph adds that the action follows an enforceable undertaking Cryptolink entered with AUSTRAC in October 2025, after alleged issues were identified by Australia’s Cryptocurrency Taskforce, including late transaction reporting and gaps in risk assessments.

Cointelegraph reports that AUSTRAC previously issued a $56,340 infringement notice that Cryptolink paid, and that the company has 96 ATMs across Australia in cities including Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
