Bitcoin holds above $65,000 as Hormuz deal hopes ease risk concerns
Ether rose to about $1,925, and liquidations fell 32% to roughly $85 million as sentiment stabilized after July volatility.
Bitcoin traded slightly higher and held above the $65,000 level as reports of potential Iran and Oman deal talks reduced near term concerns about the Strait of Hormuz, CoinDesk reported. CoinDesk said bitcoin rose 0.54% to $65,209, while ether gained 0.86% to about $1,925, with the broader move tracking a 0.45% rise in Nasdaq 100 index futures. The outlet also flagged that the altcoin market remained cautious. CoinMarketCap's altcoin season indicator was at 37/100, and capital was still concentrated in bitcoin, suggesting any rotation into smaller tokens would depend on whether bitcoin can push higher within its current range. On the altcoin front, CoinDesk noted Pump.fun led the market with a 5.39% gain, while liquidations fell 32% to about $85 million, a sign the session was stabilizing rather than accelerating into a chase for momentum.
