Bitwise 10 Crypto Index ETF sheds nearly half its assets in H1 2026

Net assets at BITW fell 48.3% to $532.8 million by June 30, while the fund’s NAV total return over the first six months was -36.2%.

Bitwise’s 10 Crypto Index ETF, ticker BITW, ended the first half of 2026 with nearly half the net assets it started with, according to the fund’s quarterly filing cited by CryptoSlate.

The ETF’s net assets dropped 48.3% from $1.03 billion at Dec. 31 to $532.8 million at June 30. BITW also reported a negative 36.2% Principal Market NAV total return per share for the six-month period, alongside an 18.97% decline in its share count.

CryptoSlate reports that the net-asset contraction reflected both market performance and net redemptions. The fund said operations reduced net assets by $339.4 million, including $430.7 million of unrealized depreciation and a $2.8 million net investment loss, partly offset by $94.1 million of realized gains.

Bitcoin’s weight within the ETF rose even as the broader basket concentrated further. BITW showed Bitcoin increasing from 75.11% of shareholders’ equity in December to 77.81% in June, while Ethereum fell from 15.41% to 12.59%, and the June constituent schedule included Hyperliquid and Stellar, with Avalanche and Polkadot absent. CryptoSlate added that the filing does not identify the ultimate investors behind redemptions through authorized participants, so it does not establish retail flight.
