BTCPay Server offers up to 3 BTC bounty to recover stolen funds
BTCPay says it will prioritize security patches over new features indefinitely, after attributing the exploit to possible AI assistance.
BTCPay Server said supporters are offering a recovery bounty of up to 3 BTC after a critical wallet exploit that led to stolen funds, The Block reports.
According to The Block, BTCPay linked the incident to a possible AI-driven attempt to exploit the vulnerability and credited Craig Raw and the Bitcoin Red Team fund for reporting the issue.
Bitcoin Magazine reports the bounty is intended to be worth 10% of any funds returned, with a cap at 3 Bitcoins, as the open source payment processor focuses on recovery and remediation.
BTCPay also said it will prioritize security patches over new features indefinitely.
