Developer files plans for 7-story school at Bronx’s 1000 University Ave
The project would total 64,366 square feet and rise about 108 feet, according to the NYC Department of Buildings filing dated Aug. 5.
A real estate developer has filed plans with the New York City Department of Buildings to build a seven-story school building at 1000 University Avenue in the Highbridge neighborhood of the Bronx, Commercial Observer reported.
Commercial Observer said the filing was submitted on Aug. 5 by Kiumarz Geula, principal of Pillar Property Management, and the proposal is for a 64,366-square-foot building about 108 feet tall that includes a cafeteria and recreation space.
The publication noted that the DOB plans include limited additional details about the work’s scope, and it said neither Geula nor the project’s registered architect, Jonathan Imani of IMC Architecture, responded to requests for comment.
Commercial Observer also pointed out that other developers are working on Bronx school projects, including a June deal in which Apex Development Group and Knickpoint Ventures secured a $60 million debt package to acquire and build a charter school at 1780 East Tremont Avenue.
