Baltimore’s 8 x 10 music venue sold, upgrades planned through October

The seller, Trout Daniel & Associates says the business and property were sold together, but the combined price was not disclosed.

Baltimore’s 8 x 10 live music venue has been sold in a transaction that pairs a property transfer with a business deal, according to ConnectCRE. Trout Daniel & Associates (TD&A) said long-time property owner Dave Rather worked with club operators Brian Shupe and Abigail Janssens to complete the sale.

The venue’s property and business were acquired by Pennsylvania-based Rising Sun Presents, the live music entertainment group led by Chris Perella. Rather will remain involved in the deal, partnering with Rising Sun Presents and Baltimore singer-songwriter Cris Jacobs.

ConnectCRE added that the new partnership will make upgrades to the venue, including interior renovations and improvements scheduled to be completed by October. TD&A said ownership plans to announce a grand reopening and upcoming shows soon.

The outlet said the combined sale price for the business and property was not disclosed, and that the property was exclusively listed, marketed, and brokered by Steven Cornblatt and Coleman Tirone with TD&A.
