EUR sentiment improves as Eurozone Sentix investor confidence turns positive

The Sentix Investor Confidence index rose to 0.9 in August, its first positive reading in five months.

Eurozone investor sentiment improved in August after Sentix Investor Confidence turned positive to 0.9, the first time in five months, according to FXStreet.

The data had turned negative in March amid the Middle East war, and it improved to -3.1 in July before rebounding in August. The index is a monthly survey of about 1,600 analysts and institutional investors, based on 36 indicators that gauge perceptions of the current economic situation and expectations for the next semester.

After the release, FXStreet said there was marginal selling pressure in the euro, but EUR/USD still moved modestly higher, trading near 1.1563 at press time.

Action Forex added that the Sentix Overall Index rose from -3.1 to 0.9 and reached its highest level since February, while the “Current Situation” and “Expectations” components also improved.
