More homebuyers trust AI for personalized plans than humans

HousingWire reports on findings from FirstHome IQ research suggesting a growing trust gap in residential real estate, where consumers increasingly look to AI for personalized planning. The outlet says 50% of buyers trust AI as much as, or more than, humans for tailored homebuying plans.

The report contrasts that with consumer distrust toward housing professionals, citing that NextGen borrowers show widespread concern the housing system will work against them. HousingWire also notes that six in ten NextGen feel the system will work against them, and that most worry they could be taken advantage of by a housing professional.

HousingWire frames the shift as a safety problem, arguing that many borrowers take fewer questions to people and either ask machines or ask no one at all. The outlet says this creates a “slow leak” of engagement for the industry as it fails to use the tool buyers already trust.
