Trump extends Jones Act waiver to keep oil moving in US
The waiver extension came after a renewed push to reopen the Strait of Hormuz failed to produce a deal, according to CNBC World.
CNBC World reports that the Trump administration extended a limited waiver of the Jones Act intended to help keep oil flowing into the United States amid the war around Iran.
The outlet said the extension follows the administration’s latest signs that a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz did not materialize.
As a result, the waiver remains in place to support US shipping for energy supplies during heightened regional risk, CNBC World added.
