Dollar holds steady as EURUSD and USDJPY show minimal moves

EURUSD was roughly flat near 1.1540, while USDJPY traded around 159.29 with little change, as traders awaited Wednesday’s U.S. CPI.

Forexlive’s U.S. FX wrap for Tuesday found the dollar broadly subdued versus major currencies, with most pairs registering only modest day-to-day changes.

EURUSD was little changed at about 1.1540, and USDJPY was also virtually unchanged near 159.29, according to the report. GBPUSD edged higher to around 1.3504, while USDCHF slipped to about 0.8108, up roughly 0.07% on the day.

The session also saw traders look ahead to Wednesday’s U.S. CPI release as the next major test for markets and expectations for the Fed’s September meeting, the outlet said. Commodity-linked currencies were mixed, with USDCAD around 1.3925 after the Canadian dollar strengthened about 0.10% and the AUD up roughly 0.11% to 0.7060.
