SEC to hold open meeting on a tailored crypto investment contracts regime
The SEC plans a Friday open meeting to shape rules for certain crypto asset investment contracts even as the Clarity Act vote slips to September.
Bitcoin Magazine reports that the SEC is preparing initiatives for the crypto industry this week and plans to hold an open meeting on Friday.
The SEC said the meeting is intended to create a tailored offering regime for certain investment contracts involving crypto assets, according to the outlet.
The development comes as the long-awaited crypto Clarity Act stalls, with a vote now expected in September rather than before Congress’s August recess.
Bitcoin Magazine also notes that lawmakers previously aimed to pass the bill, including provisions that addressed ethics rules around government officials promoting or profiting from crypto.
