Specialty MGA hires Simon Woodage to expand North American property treaty portfolio
The managing general agent within MNK Group said Woodage will lead development of the portfolio, including setting the underwriting approach and building insurer and broker relationships.
Specialty MGA, the managing general agent within MNK Group, has appointed reinsurance professional Simon Woodage as Senior Underwriter for North American Property Treaty as it seeks to expand its treaty reinsurance footprint, according to Reinsurance News.
Woodage will be responsible for developing Specialty MGA’s North American Property Treaty business, including establishing the portfolio, setting its underwriting approach, and building relationships with insurers and brokers across the sector.
Specialty MGA said Woodage brings almost four decades of experience in insurance and reinsurance, with much of his career focused on North American Property Treaty, spanning both underwriting and broking.
The company said the new portfolio will prioritize long-term relationships with insurers that view reinsurance as part of their broader business strategy, and that it intends to work with firms with specialist market knowledge and a demonstrated record of performance in their chosen areas.
