American Integrity reports record Q2 underwriting after Florida reforms
The Florida-focused homeowners insurer posted a 63.4% combined ratio, helped by lower litigation claim dispute volume and reinsurance rate relief.
American Integrity Insurance Group said it delivered its best-ever quarterly underwriting result for the three months ended June 30, posting a combined ratio of 63.4%, down from 72.9% a year earlier, according to Insurance Business.
The Tampa-based residential property carrier reported gross premiums written of $326.6 million, up 14% year-over-year, and pre-tax income of $46.4 million, a new quarterly record. With a combined ratio below 70% considered exceptional underwriting performance, the improvement stands out for a Florida-focused insurer.
Insurance Business reports the company pointed to two structural drivers behind the shift. The first is Florida's 2022 to 2023 litigation reforms, which have reduced both the volume and cost of claims disputes, with the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation noting the state's share of nationwide homeowners insurance lawsuits fell from 79% in 2020 to 41% in 2025.
The second driver was relief in reinsurance costs. American Integrity renewed its catastrophe excess of loss program on June 1, with risk-adjusted rate decreases coming in at the upper end of a 15% to 20% range, and cut aggregate retention from $95 million to $75 million, Insurance Business said. Ceded premiums earned fell to $137.6 million from $157.6 million, and net premiums earned rose 58.2% to $104.7 million. The company also sold 43,000 voluntary new business policies in the quarter, a 54% increase over Q2 2025, bringing total policies in force to 461,000.
