Harmony patches mainnet quorum and receipt-replay issues after ONE mint

Harmony released a mainnet patch on Aug. 12, v2026.1.1, after reports of an unauthorized ONE mint that could affect how the network verifies both pre-staking committee quorum and cross-shard receipts.

According to The Defiant, one code change adjusts quorum calculation for pre-staking-epoch committees by counting enabled validators in the signer bitmap rather than using the full committee size, with the patch also set to reject an empty pre-staking quorum.

A second fix addresses receipt replay risk, where older cross-shard receipts could be resubmitted in a way that made them appear unspent and credited the destination again without a matching debit, the pull request summary says.

Harmony’s response to the incident included working with exchanges to freeze funds, asking exchanges to block four specific wallets, and pausing its bridge, but the release does not specify a rollback point or quantify the disputed supply, and CoinGecko data showed ONE at about $0.000773, down 37.6% over 24 hours.
