Houthi attacks in Red Sea and Gulf of Oman kill six as U.S. strikes
The attacks hit shipping lanes used for global trade, following cargo ship and containership incidents in the Red Sea and Gulf of Oman.
CNBC reports that Houthi attacks in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Oman have resulted in six deaths, the first fatalities in that area in more than a year.
The outlet says a cargoship and a containership were hit as the conflict continues to disrupt shipping through critical trade routes.
CNBC adds that the U.S. carried out strikes against a container ship in response to the incidents.
