Permits approved for 10-story affordable senior housing in the Bronx
The all-electric project will include a Passive House design approach and about a 1,800-square-foot rooftop solar array.
ConnectCRE reports permits have been approved for a new 10-story affordable senior housing development at 105 W. Tremont Ave. in the Morris Heights neighborhood of the Bronx.
The project, developed by Crown Holdings in partnership with The Community Builders, will deliver 95 Affordable Independent Residences for Seniors (AIRS) as part of a broader neighborhood regeneration initiative.
The approximately 55,000-square-foot building is designed to be about 100 feet tall and will bring housing plus onsite support services, including community and recreational spaces, an outdoor patio and garden, consultation rooms, laundry facilities, bicycle storage, and a 24-hour attended reception.
The development will incorporate a sustainability agenda through Passive House design standards, with the all-electric building featuring an approximately 1,800-square-foot rooftop solar array, according to ConnectCRE.
