Bitmine says Ether staking could generate $257M in annualized revenue
The company reported it has staked more than 5 million Ether, implying native yield that can help offset Ether price swings as spot ETH fell about 23% in Q2 2026.
Bitmine Immersion Technologies said Monday that staked Ether has reached a key milestone that could generate about $257 million in annualized revenue from staking, according to Cointelegraph, citing a company announcement.
Cointelegraph reports Bitmine surpassed 5 million Ether in staked tokens, and it also is the largest corporate Ether holder with 5.54 million ETH, currently worth $9.4 billion. The outlet also noted that the broader Ether treasury landscape is under pressure as Ether’s spot price slid about 23% during the second quarter of 2026.
According to Cointelegraph, SharpLink, the second-largest Ether treasury company, posted a net loss of $394 million for Q2 2026, driven largely by $391 million in unrealized crypto losses. Cointelegraph said Bitmine’s staking approach is meant to create recurring income that can act as a buffer to Ether price volatility.
Cointelegraph added that Ether staking is currently paying a 2.61% annual percentage rate and that more than 34% of total Ether supply is staked across 897,064 validators, based on Validatorqueue dashboard data. The outlet also cited perspectives from market participants comparing Ether staking income to a treasury strategy that provides more predictable revenue than relying solely on spot price appreciation.
