DATA Foundation token unlocks missed Aug. 13, no replacement date

The foundation extended team and lead-investor lockups by 18 months on June 25, but has not specified when the tokens will start unlocking.

DATA Foundation, formerly Story Foundation, said its team and lead-investor tokens did not begin unlocking on Aug. 13, even though that date appeared in an earlier public token supply schedule, according to CryptoSlate.

On June 25, the foundation announced it extended those token lockups by 18 months. However, the June update did not state when the additional 18-month period begins, did not identify which wallets or token amounts are affected, and did not describe how the extension is enforced.

CryptoSlate reports the February update had already postponed the initial unlock and every later vesting release by six months, moving the opening date from Feb. 13 to Aug. 13, 2026, while leaving total supply, allocations, vesting terms, and legal ownership unchanged.

The outlet also notes that the public documentation provides no contract address, code, transaction evidence, or wallet list to confirm how the June extension is implemented, and it has not clarified whether Aug. 13, 2026 becomes a new baseline for an 18-month extension.
