White House to host crypto and prediction market executives next week

The White House is set to host crypto industry executives and prediction market leaders next week, according to reporting cited by Bitcoin Magazine.

The gathering is planned for one day before the Commodity Futures Trading Commission holds a meeting for its new Innovation Advisory Committee, which will include a panel of experts from crypto, prediction markets, and traditional finance.

The news comes as progress on the long-awaited crypto Clarity Act has slipped, after lawmakers hoped for a vote before Congress left for the August recess.

Bitcoin Magazine also noted that the bill’s House-passed text, which addressed ethics rules including restrictions on government officials promoting or profiting from crypto, is now expected to go to a vote in September, while regulators continue other pro-crypto efforts.
