Hong Kong invites bids to develop logistics sites in Northern Metropolis

The government is seeking input on terms, infrastructure needs, development scenarios, land disposal options, and financial viability for the first five sites in the Hung Shui Kiu logistics cluster.

Hong Kong authorities have invited interested parties to submit expressions of interest to develop land parcels reserved for a modern logistics cluster under the Northern Metropolis megaproject, according to SCMP Economy.

The Transport and Logistics Bureau and the Civil Engineering and Development Department said the effort is meant to gauge industry interest in developing the first five available sites in the Hung Shui Kiu logistics cluster, along with views on proposed development terms, infrastructure requirements, development scenarios, land disposal options, and financial viability.

Authorities added that land lease terms and the overall development model will be formulated after reviewing the submissions.

The planned 32-hectare logistics cluster is divided into five functional zones within the Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen New Development Area, and is located near the Shenzhen Bay checkpoint, with connections to Hong Kong International Airport and the Kwai Tsing Container Terminals, the outlet reported.
