Trade court upholds the closure of the de minimis loophole
CNBC Markets reports that a trade court upheld President Donald Trump’s closure of the de minimis exemption, which had previously allowed certain low-value shipments to enter with fewer customs requirements.
The decision was highlighted by Trump in a Truth Social post, calling the outcome a major win.
The ruling keeps in place tighter treatment for eligible shipments that would have qualified under the de minimis rule.
