JPMorgan increases Bitcoin and boosts Ether ETF positions in Q2
In its Q2 Form 13F, JPMorgan reported its BlackRock iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF position rose to about 10.4 million shares, while its iShares Ethereum Trust ETF holdings climbed more than fourfold to about 1.17 million shares.
JPMorgan increased its reported ETF holdings tied to major cryptocurrencies in its latest US Securities and Exchange Commission Form 13F, according to Cointelegraph.
The filing showed JPMorgan’s reported position in BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) rose about 25% in the second quarter to roughly 10.4 million shares, up from about 8.3 million in Q1, with a reported value of approximately $356 million.
JPMorgan’s reported Ether exposure expanded even more, with its iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA) position rising more than fourfold to about 1.17 million shares from roughly 267,000 shares.
Cointelegraph also noted the filing can be hard to interpret because 13F reports exclude short positions and can combine holdings tied to different parts of an institution, including client activity and inventory. PrimeXBT senior market analyst Jonatan Randin said it provides some idea of what JPMorgan holds but does not reveal its directional market view for the future.
