Kin becomes licensed direct HELOC lender in Florida
Kin says Florida borrowers can apply online, get approval in as few as five minutes, and fund in as few as five days, with HELOC credit lines up to $750,000.
Kin has become a licensed direct lender for home equity lines of credit in Florida, replacing the broker-referral model it previously used when it entered home financing in October 2025, Coverager reports.
The company says it will operate through its Kin Financing affiliate, giving it direct control over HELOC pricing and the borrowing process. Florida homeowners can apply online and, according to Kin, receive approval in as few as five minutes and obtain funding in as few as five days, subject to verification and closing requirements.
Kin says its HELOC credit lines are available up to $750,000 and include a direct debt-payoff feature. The company also plans to provide Kin with property information, including roof condition and type, tree coverage, and whether a property has a swimming pool.
In comments shared by Coverager, Kin Chief Product Officer Douglas Everson said licensing lets the firm manage the HELOC experience end to end, from application to funding, as part of a broader shift for Kin, from being an insurance company to focusing on protecting, financing, and managing homeowners’ residences.
