Trump expected to attend White House meeting with crypto CEOs
The gathering precedes a Thursday inaugural CFTC innovation committee event focused on issues including “a durable federal market structure.”
CoinDesk reports that people briefed on planning for a White House innovation meeting next week have been told President Donald Trump is expected to make an appearance with crypto and prediction market leaders.
The meeting is described as a prelude to the innovation committee’s inaugural event on Thursday, when a group of CEOs from crypto, prediction markets and AI are expected to discuss their industries.
Those advised on the plans said the chief executives named as members of the CFTC Innovation Advisory Committee include Coinbase, Ripple, Gemini, Robinhood, Polymarket and Kalshi, and that Trump is expected to attend before their first committee meeting on Thursday at the CFTC.
CoinDesk also reports the meeting is expected to include CFTC Chairman Mike Selig and other advisers, with possible attendance from Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and that the Thursday agenda includes a session titled “Crypto’s Regulatory Evolution: From Uncertainty to Clarity.”
