Swissquote posts record client assets but cuts 2026 guidance

Client assets rose to CHF 96.3 billion, but net crypto assets income fell 66.2% and Swissquote expects lower revenue and profit for 2026.

Swissquote reported record client assets while acknowledging pressure from its crypto business, which drove the company to cut its 2026 guidance. The online bank said client assets climbed to a record CHF 96.3 billion, up nearly 20% year on year, and it added 64,011 accounts in six months to reach 1.22 million.

In its results, Swissquote said net revenue increased 1.7% year on year to CHF 364.2 million, while pre-tax profit was almost flat at CHF 182.9 million, with the pre-tax profit margin still above 50%. However, net profit slipped to CHF 153.6 million from CHF 158.2 million a year earlier, and the company pointed to crypto weakness as the key drag.

Net crypto assets income dropped 66.2% to CHF 14.6 million as bitcoin and other digital assets weakened amid geopolitical tension, higher interest rates, and a stronger dollar. Swissquote also said crypto trading volumes fell sharply, citing an FNG measure showing monthly volumes down 60% from the second half of 2025.

Swissquote cut its 2026 outlook, now expecting net revenue of about CHF 730 million, down from CHF 760 million, and pre-tax profit of about CHF 365 million, down from CHF 385 million. The article notes some reports placed the immediate share-price reaction around a 10% to 13% decline.
