Jain Global plans Hong Kong expansion as Millennium tie-up nears
The firm plans to grow its Hong Kong office by 50% by early 2027, adding space for about 25 more employees.
Jain Global is expanding its Asian operations, adding new hires and additional office space in Hong Kong as Bobby Jain’s multi-strategy hedge fund moves toward a new structure tied to Millennium Management, according to Hedgeweek, citing a Bloomberg report.
The firm has agreed to increase the size of its Hong Kong office by 50% from early 2027, with the additional space expected to accommodate about 25 more employees. Hong Kong currently accounts for around 60% of Jain Global’s roughly 75 staff in Asia.
Jain Global has continued recruiting across Asia while preparing for the Millennium relationship. Recent additions include Jordan Miyakawa, joining in Singapore as a discretionary macro portfolio manager, Matthieu Millot, set to focus on single-stock derivatives, and Ian Wong, a portfolio manager focused on industrials.
The expansion follows some departures, including Amir Ravan, a Singapore-based portfolio manager specializing in precious metals and described as one of the firm’s stronger performers last year, who is leaving to become head of commodities at Dymon Asia Capital.
