UK PM Andy Burnham raised concern after messages to Susie Wiles impostor

The episode was serious enough for the British embassy in Washington to raise the matter with the White House, according to cited sources.

New British Prime Minister Andy Burnham exchanged messages with someone he believed was Susie Wiles, the White House chief of staff, before becoming suspicious, according to multiple media outlets citing anonymous sources. The incident involved “a few messages” sent via an unspecified communication channel, Politico reported.

According to Politico, the matter was serious enough that the British embassy in Washington raised it with the White House, citing two sources. Burnham took office on July 20, succeeding Keir Starmer.

Burnham’s Downing Street office said it would not comment on national security matters, according to Agence France Presse. The statement did not deny that the exchanges occurred.
