Aon CFO Edmund Reese to depart, interim CFO named
Aon said it is launching a search for a permanent successor while reaffirming full-year 2026 guidance, including double-digit free cash flow growth and 70 to 80 basis points of adjusted operating margin expansion.
Aon plc announced the immediate departure of Edmund Reese as chief financial officer, appointing Nadin Virani as interim CFO as the firm begins a search for a permanent successor. Reese joined Aon as CFO in 2022 and will remain as a senior adviser to president and CEO Greg Case through August 16, 2027 to support the transition, according to Insurance Business.
Virani, who steps in from his role as Aon’s global head of corporate planning and analytics, will oversee financial planning, cash management and budgeting on an interim basis. Before Aon, he held CFO positions in London, Frankfurt and New York at American Express over 18 years, including experience covering international lending, insurance and merchant pricing.
Alongside the leadership change, Aon reaffirmed its full-year 2026 financial guidance. The broker targets mid-single-digit or greater organic revenue growth, double-digit free cash flow growth, and 70 to 80 basis points of adjusted operating margin expansion, consistent with the update it provided with its second-quarter results on July 29.
Aon’s Q2 2026 performance included 5% organic revenue growth, with total revenue up 2% to $4.2 billion. Risk Capital revenue grew 5% to $3.0 billion, and adjusted operating income rose 5% to $1.23 billion, as Aon continued its 3x3 Plan, which it said is on track to deliver about $350 million in annualized savings by year-end.
