Bank of America lifts 2030 server CPU market forecast for AMD upside
The forecast now calls for a 36% compound annual growth rate to more than $210 billion by 2030, versus about $170 billion previously, citing stronger AI compute and memory demand.
Advanced Micro Devices is getting a bullish boost from Bank of America as the firm raised its 2030 server CPU market forecast to more than $210 billion from around $170 billion, based on stronger demand for artificial intelligence compute and memory, according to Yahoo Finance.
Bank of America now expects the server CPU market to grow at a 36% compound annual growth rate, up from 30%, which the article says implies nearly 5x growth from the roughly $35 billion CY25 level.
The firm also points to AI agents increasing data center demand, with workloads expected to move beyond traditional AI training. It said CPUs can be additive to the overall system total addressable market.
The article adds that near-record GPU rental prices and memory spot prices suggest a broader compute shortage, and Bank of America continues to view AMD as its top CPU pick based on what it describes as AMD's dual leadership across frequency and core count.
