Hampden Risk appoints James Drew as senior underwriter at Lloyd’s
Drew will cover proportional reinsurance underwriting for top-quartile Lloyd’s syndicates and will also pursue select MGA and company market opportunities aligned with HRP’s standards.
Hampden Risk Partners, via its Lloyd’s Syndicate 2689, has appointed James Drew as senior underwriter, according to Reinsurance News.
In the role, Drew will focus on underwriting a portfolio of proportional business for top-quartile syndicates in the Lloyd’s market, with a selective appetite for complementary MGA and company market opportunities that match HRP’s underwriting standards and strategic objectives.
Drew reports to Active Underwriter Giancarlo D’Alessandro and works under CEO Leah Rose as the business develops its specialist underwriting proposition for insurance market clients and partners.
Reinsurance News said Drew joins from MS Amlin, where he served as a reinsurance buyer, after earlier roles including Head of Outwards Reinsurance at Brit Insurance and positions at Aviva, IAG, Torus Insurance, and Liberty Syndicates, with experience spanning marine and non-marine classes and long- and short-tail exposures across Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific.
